Canto d'un Sogno (2018), an Homage to William Schumann, for String Orchestra
An homage to late American composer William Schumann, this piece explores the intrinsic relationship, constituted of conflicts and perpetual infatuation, between Nature and City using a polytonal setting as a metaphore: two tonalities arise together, ceasessly blending in a fight to prevail one another.
Yet, music emerges as and ode: a lyrical lament full of nostalgia both transcending and yearning a distant, idyllic past and a bright, florid future.
